About YES Abroad and AFS
In 2012-2013, I spent my sophomore year of high school abroad in Malaysia with the YES Abroad Program.
The YES program was created after 9-11 to ease tensions between Muslim countries and America through youth ambassadors who promote cultural learning and acceptance. The YES program originally only brought students into the United States from other countries, but the YES Abroad program was added in 2008.
